Ammouliani

Ammouliani, they describe it as a Mediterranean summer holiday destination and as a gastronomic paradise. Although it used to be a very well hidden treasure for discerning holidaymakers, Ammouliani is now one of the most in summer destinations in Halkidiki, to the extent that you will find it very difficult to visit it, unless you organize yourself early.

Apart from crystal clear blue-green, clear waters, vegetation and olive trees, it has amazing golden and fine sandy beaches with the beaches of Alykes, Agios Georgios and Megali Ammouda playing a leading and representative role.

The magic of Ammouliani is complemented by the giant rocks and the secluded bays, but also by some small uninhabited islands, such as Gaidouronissi and Drenia, which you can explore and do diving and countless dives.

Azapiko

Azapiko beach is located between Neos Marmaras and Porto Koufos.

The beach of Azapikos is a wide, white sandy beach with sparkling and crystal clear water, between Neos Marmaras and Porto Koufos.

It is beautiful with coarse sand and crystal clear waters. It is not an organised beach and is therefore preferred by campers with tents or caravans.

The seabed is not rocky and after one metre it deepens sharply.

South of N. Marmaras, you will find two wonderful beaches of about 350 and 500 meters, the first and the second respectively. They are separated by a large vertical rock that dominates the area. The purity and vividness of the sea colours leave visitors speechless.

Porto Koufo

The Porto Koufo is a bay whose head is a natural small harbour with a south-to-north entry direction and is located in the Toronean Gulf. It is the deepest and safest natural harbour in Halkidiki. It has a high traffic of fishing and tourist boats.

Within the bay, several smaller coves are created, the most important being that of the cove and the cove "Goura", which is located opposite the ruins of the once large Turkish barracks. The edges of the entrance are high, about 90 m high and rocky.

The entrance of Porto Koufo bay is not visible from the sea, so there are two lighthouses on either side of the entrance. During the day, safe entry is achieved by aligning the middle of the entrance with the Tricrano peak of Athos. It is the "Deaf limin" of the ancient Greeks, as mentioned by Thucydides.

Mount Athos

Mount Athos occupies the entire third peninsula of Halkidiki and is an autonomous and self-governing region of Greece.

Many hills and mountains rise along it, culminating in Mount Athos, which reaches a height of 2033 metres above sea level.

Today there are 20 monasteries and 14 sketes on Mount Athos.

They belong to the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and the sanctuary which prohibits women from entering has been in place for more than 1000 years.
